Top 10 Longest Rivers in the World

The Nile River
1. The Nile River- Has long been considered the Nile the longest river in the world. It is about 4135 miles (6650 km) in length and flows in the direction of the north to where it drains at the end of the Mediterranean Sea. Passes through ten countries in the continent of Africa, where the main source of water and life since ancient times. Nile and two of the main contributories, and the White Nile and Blue Nile. White Nile is the longest of the two, but feed the Blue Nile river water more.


The Amazon River
2. The Amazon River- Amazon some of 3980 miles (6400 km) in length and is known as the second longest river in the world. Despite going through seven countries in South America, which is really the largest river in terms of volume and flow. In fact, they are a fifth of the flow of a river in the world. For these reasons, a world conflict that should be considered is the longest river in the world as well, but this title is not for them so far.




The Yangtze River3. The Yangtze River- Yangtze River (also called the Chang Jiang) is about 3915 miles (6380 km) in length, and is the third longest river in the world. Located in the People's Republic of China, and flows from its source in Qinghai Province, to the East China Sea in Shanghai. Because it is the largest river in this region is important economically, historically and culturally. It's also home of the identity of the world's largest hydroelectric power system, the Three Gorges Dam.




The Missouri River
4. The Missouri River- Missouri River system in the state of Mississippi in about 3,900 miles (6,300 km) in length, and this is the longest river in the fourth place in the world. Drainage, on average, making it the tenth largest river in the world. This is the only river in North America that have made the list of the top ten longest rivers. Also, its name comes from the word Ojibwe meaning "Great River". Located about 98.5 per cent of the river within the United States, and the rest live in Canada.


The Yenisei River5. The Yenisei River- Believed to be from the Yenisei as a great river that flows in the Arctic Ocean in 3445, and a mile (5539 km), is the longest river in the fifth place in the world. Is the case in Russia, mainly in the region of Siberia. This river has several dams to generate electricity that feeds much of the industry of Russia in the first place.

The Yellow River- Yellow River (also called Huang) is the second longest river in the Republic of China (PRC) and the sixth is the longest in the world being about 3010 miles (4845 km) in length. In China it is known by the titles of all the positive and negative. And a positive one as the "cradle of China" because it is the cradle of Chinese civilization, North, and one negative being "China's sorrow" because of the floods that occur that cause a great deal of damage.


The Ob-Irtysh River
7. The Ob-Irtysh River- Ob-Irtysh river system are the seventh largest river in the world. The Irtysh River is a tributary of the Aube, which is actually generating. These rivers are located in Siberia and together nearly of 3364 miles (5410 km) in length. They form a large basin in Asia, and has more from West Siberia and the Altai Mountains.

8. The Congo River- Congo River (are in the 8 place in the world). Is the case in Russia, mainly in the region of Siberia. This river has several dams to generate electricity that feeds much of the industry of Russia in the first place.












The Amur River9. The Amur River- Amur River (also called Heilongjiang) is the world's longest river 9 and also on the border between the Russian Far East and northeastern China. This river flows through the north-east Asia on the Strait of Tartary, where it drains finally in the Pacific. He has been called the "Black River" because it was sacred to the Manchu and the Qing Dynasty, but it is also a symbol of Russian-Chinese relations.


The Lena River
10. The Lena River- Lena River is the greatest river in Russia, being about 2800 miles (4400 km), as the world's longest river 10. This tributary of the river seven different rivers that join with it and it is the River Kirenga, River Olyokyma, river Vitim, River Amga, parents and the river, the river and the river Vilyuy Maya. It has the unique distinction of the river which seems to be the largest river in the world when considered with the Mercator projection.
